Four area teams came together for a quad at Montague on Saturday. The Wildcats played host to Ludington, Spring Lake and Fremont.
Montague went unbeaten on the day with a 3-0 record to improve to 16-1 overall. The Wildcats won all three sets in each match, beating Ludington 25-23, 25-16 and 25-23, topping Spring Lake 25-15, 25-19 and 25-21 and overpowering Fremont 25-14, 25-13 and 25-8.
Ally Hall led the team with 37 kills to go with 10 digs, while Reilly Murphy added 33 kills and 22 digs. Reagan Murphy led the team with eight aces while totaling 24 digs and 14 kills. Morgan Netcott had 34 digs and Taylor Netcott added 28.
Ludington finished 2-1 on the day, beating Spring Lake 25-22, 21-25 and 25-11 and topping Fremont 25-10, 25-19 and 25-13. The Orioles are now 7-9 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Elena Vaara led Ludington with 30 kills, 10 digs, nine aces and six blocks, while De’Lahna Porter totaled 25 kills, 19 digs, eight blocks and three aces. Sophia Cooney had 23 digs for the Orioles and Veronique Chapman had 47 assists.
Spring Lake went 1-2 on the day, with their win coming over Fremont. The Lakers beat the Packers 25-27, 26-24 and 25-13. Spring Lake was led by Lilly Garrison with 12 kills, while Alicia Mumby added 10 and Kalli Lewkowski had eight to go with five aces and five blocks. Kendra Kieft led the team with 35 digs, while Meah Bajt had 24 digs and five aces.
Fremont is now 5-8 overall and 2-0 in conference play after the 0-3 day.
OAKRIDGE, OV COMPETE IN QUAD — The Oakridge volleyball team hosted Orchard View, Mason County Central and Ottawa Hills for a quad Saturday. The Eagles went 3-0 on the day, while the Cardinals finished 2-1.
Oakridge beat Ottawa Hills 25-13, 25-13 and 25-12, topped Orchard View 25-14, 25-14 and 25-15 and handled MCC 25-7, 25-14 and 25-9.
Hayden Ruel had 53 assists, 21 digs and nine aces, Emma Blackburn had 20 kills, Rainn Fri and Saidee Raap each added 14 kills and Emma Fri totaled 31 digs.
The Eagles are now 11-1 on the season.
Orchard View beat Ottawa Hills 25-13, 25-19 and 25-23 and topped MCC 25-14, 26-24 and 24-26.
Kaelyn McNarland had 19 digs, 12 aces and eight kills, Meghan TenHove totaled 22 assists, 12 kills and eight digs while Aleya Jones finished with 17 assists, 10 digs and six aces.
WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN GOES 3-0 AT QUAD — The Western Michigan Christian volleyball traveled to Battle Creek for a quad and left undefeated. The Warriors beat Plymouth Christian 25-19, 25-20 and 25-22, defeated Harper Creek 25-18, 25-20 and 25-23 and topped Charlotte 25-15, 21-25 and 25-13.
Alisha Leffring led the way with 29 kills and 11 blocks. Taylor Folkema had 26 kills, 22 digs and six aces, while Kendal Young had 24 digs and three aces.
WMC is now 13-5 on the season, including 2-0 in conference play.
KENT CITY SWEEPS QUAD — The Kent City volleyball team remained undefeated on the season with a 3-0 performance at Lakeview on Saturday. The Eagles beat Big Rapids 25-11 and 25-13, topped Central Montcalm 25-15 and 25-14 and defeated Lakeview 25-16 and 25-10.
Erica Bull led the team with 21 kills on the day, while Jasmine Weeks and Taryn Preston each had 23 digs. Jenna Harrison had 44 assists, 19 digs and three aces.
The Eagles are 9-0-1 on the season and 3-0 in league play.
