After practicing for weeks during the state ban on competition in the southern part of the Lower Peninsula, the Western Michigan Christian girls volleyball team traveled to Kingsley on Wednesday to get some game action.

WMC defeated McBain 25-20, 25-21, 15-12 and Kingsley 27-25, 25-12, 15-13 and lost to Charlevoix 22-25, 23-25, 15-9. All three matches included a third set, regardless of which team won the first two.   

Kyla Wiersema paced WMC with 31 kills while Alisha Leffring added 29, Leffring and Kendal Young each had four aces, and Young set things up with 84 assists.

Defensively, Wiersema had 28 digs and Folkema had 27, while Leffring registered eight blocks.
