Seven different players scored a touchdown as defending-champion Mona Shores dominated Wyoming 54-6 in the first round of the MHSAA Division 2 playoffs.

Elijah Johnson opened the scoring with 50 seconds left in the first quarter with a 6-yard rushing touchdown to make it 7-0.

With 11:07 left in the 1st half, Keondre Pierce scored from nine yards out to make it 14-0. 

Wyoming cut into the lead with 4:39 left in the half, scoring on a two yard touchdown run to cut the lead to 14-6.

The Sailors added a pair of touchdowns before the half, a 3-yard rushing touchdown from Brady Rose and a 13-yard pass from Rose to Elijah Farnum, to lead 27-6 at the half.

Mona Shores collected scores from Khyree Hamel (67-yard kickoff return), Gary Humphrey (35 yard pass from Rose), Rose (50-yard interception return) and Mark Konecny (14-yard run) in the third quarter. 

Rose finished the game 5 for 8 for 101 yards and two passing touchdowns. He added 76 yards rushing on ten attempts and one rushing touchdown. 

Johnson led the Sailors with 80 rushing yards on eight attempts, while Jaylen Vinton rushed for 78 yards on five attempts. 

Humphrey paced the Sailors with two catches for 57 yards and Farnum finished the game with three catches for 44 yards. 

Defensively, the Sailors were anchored by D.J. Caviness who finished with eight tackles. Drew Sandberg recorded seven tackles, while Hamel and Larry white had six each. Rose and Jeff Lenartowicz each recorded an interception. 

With the win, Mona Shores improves to 7-0 overall this season and will play at home against Forest Hills Central in the second round of the playoffs.
