Ravenna’s Kyle Beebe accounted for six touchdowns on Friday – four on the ground and two through the  air – to lead the Bulldogs to a convincing 55-8 victory over Hart in a West Michigan Conference football matchup.

Beebe led off the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Hart answered when quarterback Braden Carskadon scored from nine years out and the two-point conversion was good, giving the Pirates a short-lived 8-7 lead.

Ravenna’s offense then went to work over the rest of the first half. Beebe completed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Joel Emery, scored on a 4-yard run, and completed an 8-yard TD pass to Emery. Thomas McCullough added a 9-yard touchdown burst, and the Bulldogs led 34-8 at halftime.

Beebe added scoring runs of 8 and 6 yards in the third quarter, then Hunter Logan capped things off with an 11-yard touchdown run.

Beebe completed 7 of 9 passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for 98 yards on eight carries with four touchdowns. Hogan ran for 75 yards on nine attempts with one touchdown.

Emery finished with three catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns.

The Ravenna defense helped itself by picking off four Pirate passes. Emery had two picks while Zeke Thompson and John Schuitema snagged one apiece. The leading tackler was Hunter Burns with seven.

Carskadon led Hart with 81 rushing and 33 passing yards. Defensive leaders for the Pirates were Jose Luis Andeverde and Austin Martinez with six tackles apiece.

Ravenna, now 2-2 on the season, will host Oakridge in a big rivalry matchup next Friday. Hart, 0-4, will visit archrival Shelby.
