The Western Michigan Christian volleyball team ended the home portion of its schedule on Monday with a 3-0 non-conference victory over Reeths-Puffer.

The set scores were 28-26, 25-17, 30-28.

The Warriors thought they had lost the first set 25-21, but it turned out that the Rockets had inadvertently allowed a player to serve out of order, and the point was awarded to WMC. The Warriors went on to win the set, and then swept the second and third.

Kyla Wiersema had 12 kills for the Warriors while Alisha Leffring added 10. Leffring also served 11 aces, Haley Breuker added 10, and Kendal Young had 33 assists.

Defensively. Leffring and Wiersema led with 11 digs apiece. Wiersema had five blocks while Leffring and Libby Mast totaled four apiece.

Leah Ellis paced Reeths-Puffer with 11 kills, Beth Jordan had 31 assists, and Ellis and Tessa Lamphere had nine digs apiece.

The Warriors are now 22-11 on the season. The Rockets fell to 9-13.

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 3, TRI-UNITY CHRISTIAN 0 – The Crusaders swept the match by scores of 25-16, 25-21, 25-20.

MCC featured a very balanced attack, with Maria Modaff, Erin LaVigne, Alena Martin and McKenna Gentry all collecting seven kills. Claire LaVigne set up the offense with 30 assists.

Defensively, Emma Maierhauser led the way with 10 digs.

The Crusaders are now 11-7 on the season.

LUDINGTON TRI – The Orioles had a good night, beating Kent City  25-20, 21-25, 17-15 and Tri-County 25-10, 16-25, 25-12. 

Elana Vaara had 21 kills on the night for the Orioles while De’Lahna Porter added 10. Lauren Johnson had 32 assists. Defensively. Keelyn Laird had 10 blocks and Sophia Cooney collected nine digs.

Ludington is now 20-9 on the season.
