The Ludington boys soccer team cruised past Orchard View 8-0 on Thursday to stay atop of the Lakes 8 Conference.

Parker Wendt and Nick Patterson scored two each for Ludington while Kyle Wendt, Steven Stidham, Lucas Peterson and Mason VerStrat added one.

Colin Anders led the Orioles with two assists.

Ludington’s Tile Marrison had six saves in goal to earn a shutout win.

The Orioles are now 8-3-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play, while Orchard View is 0-12-1 on the season and 0-7 in league action.

NON-LEAGUE

FRUITPORT 8, FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 0 – Bode Anspach lead the way for the Trojans with three goals while Carter Golden added two.

Fruitport’s Jayce Thorton, Cody Mayette and Christian Swiatek each netted a goal apiece.

Zach Schaefer chipped in with two assists while Mason Smith, Ryan Laus, Cameron Weaver, Golden, and Jackson Smith Upson each had one helper.

Justin Laus stopped four shots in net for the Trojans.

The Trojans are now 4-3-3 on the season overall.

MONA SHORES 2, HUDSONVILLE UNITY CHRISTIAN 2 – The Sailors battled to a tie in a non-league game on Thursday.

Hayden Yaros scored a goal assisted by Abe Freye, while Alex Eckerman buried an unassisted goal.

Mona Shores is now 8-2-1 on the season and 5-2 in O-K Green Conference play.

NORTHVIEW 4, REETHS-PUFFER 3 – The Rockets failed to hang on to their lead, falling in a non-league contest on Thursday.

Liam Smith scored the first goal for Reeths-Puffer from 30-yard out.

The game was deadlocked 1-1 at halftime.

The Rockets added goals from Jaxon Carpenter and Ashton Carpenter three minutes apart to take a 3-1 advantage.

Northview closed out the scoring with three unanswered goals to complete the comeback victory.

Reeths-Puffer is now 2-5-4 overall and 2-4-1 in conference play.

LAKES 8 CONFERENCE

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 5, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 0 – The Warriors had a shutout performance on Thursday in a Lakes 8 game.

Beau Campbell led WMC with two goals while Charlie Buursma, Lulo Mafahla and Joey Eastway added a goal.

Buursma, Eastway, Ashton Leffring and Aidan Kenny each chipped in with an assist for the Warriors.

WMC’s goalkeeper Jared Olsen stopped both shots faced.

The Warriors are now 6-3-1 on the season and 6-1 in league play.
