The Grand Haven volleyball team ran its conference record to 3-2 with a challenging four-set victory over Caledonia on Thursday in O-K Red action.

The set scores were 25-19, 25-19, 21-25 and 25-16.

Ashlyn Pahl led Grand Haven with 14 kills, followed closely by Tessa Winkleman with 13. Mia Swierbut had 19 digs on defense and Winkleman had 11.

Grand Haven is now 14-11 overall.

WEST MICHIGAN CONFERENCE

WHITEHALL 3, RAVENNA 0 – The Vikings won three straight sets in a West Michigan Conference match. The scores were 24-13, 25-14, and 25-15.

Charley Klint led the Vikings offensively with 12 kills with Charlie Baker landing eight. Maggie Evans had 27 assists for the Vikings and Camryn Evans served three aces.

Defensively, Ryleigh Mott dove for 12 digs on the night, with Lauryn Carr chipped in two blocks.

Whitehall now has a record of 14-4, with a conference mark of 5-1.

NON-CONFERENCE

HART 3, MUSKEGON 0 – The Pirates swept the non-conference match by scores of 25-11, 25-14, and 25-20.

Cassidy Copenhaver led the team on the night, scoring 10 points overall with seven kills and three aces. She also paced the defense with seven digs.

Rylee Noggle had seven kills while Avery Beachum followed with six. Avery Aerts and Beachum landed three aces apiece while Finley Kistler dished out six assists.

Hart is now 6-11 on the season.

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC GOES 3-0 IN QUAD – The Crusaders dominated the quad meet that took place at Grant High School.

MCC defeated Grant 28-26, 27-25, White Cloud 25-21, 25-18 and Orchard View 25-23, 25-21.

Alena Martin led the team offensively with 17 kills on the night and six aces.

McKenna Gentry added 14 kills while Cara Burkall, Maria Modaff and Erin LaVigne each chipped in 13. Erin LaVigne also served five aces and dove for 19 digs.

Claire LaVigne served four aces and set up the MCC offense with 71 assists. Emma Maierhauser led defensively with 29 digs and Martin had 14.

Muskegon Catholic is now 6-6 on the season.

ORCHARD VIEW 0-3 AT GRANT QUAD – Orchard View met some tough teams in a quad hosted in Grant, resulting in three losses.

The Cardinals lost to White Cloud in three sets (8-25, 25-22, 7-15) and lost to both Grant (8-25, 21-25) and Muskegon Catholic Central (23-25, 21-25) in two.

Kaelyn McNarland led OV offensively with 10 kills and three aces on the night. Meghan TenHove followed with six kills of her own, along with 15 assists.

Defensively, McNarland racked up 29 digs for the Cardinals. Emma Peklar dove for an additional 24 digs and TenHove had 11.
