A late Blake Haight 54-yard touchdown reception gave Fruitport a 28-21 victory over Coopersville in an O-K Blue Conference clash on Friday.

Coopersville struck first with a three-yard rushing touchdown with 5:43 left in the first quarter. 

Gavin Reames scored on a three-yard touchdown run with 4:52 left in the first quarter but the ensuing PAT was blocked, keeping the Trojans trailing 7-6.

With 11:10 left in the half, Reames found Cody Nash for a 62-yard touchdown pass. The ensuing two-point conversion was good, giving the Trojans took a 14-7 lead. 

Coopersville tied the with 5:38 left in the half on a four-yard touchdown run. The PAT was converted, and the game was tied at half 14-14. 

The Broncos took the lead with 33 seconds left in the third quarter on a three-yard rushing touchdown and converted the PAT, making the score 21-14.

With 4:18 left in the game, Reames found Haight for a 54-yard receiving touchdown. Fruitport then went for two and converted to take a 22-21 lead.

On the ensuing kickoff, Ronnie Taylor extended the lead with a fumble recovery for a touchdown, making the score 28-21.

Reames finished the evening 8-of-13 passing for 267 yards and two touchdowns, while also adding a rushing touchdown. 

Zech Richardson finished the evening with 13 rushing attempts for 56 yards. 

Camden Farrell led the team with three catches for 108 yards while Nash totaled two catches for 99 yards. Haight finished with two catches for 60 yards. 

Defensively, Aaron Sander led the way with eight tackles.

Richardson, and Andrew Fielstra each recorded seven tackles while Landon Doctor recorded five tackles and an interception. 

The Trojans are now 2-3 overall and will play Spring Lake in the Battle of the Bayou next week to close out the regular season.
