Muskegon Catholic Central plowed its way to a 40-0 road victory over Lakes 8 Conference rival Manistee on Friday to remain undefeated.

Running back Joe Waller was the standout for the Crusaders, recording five rushing touchdowns.

Waller opened things up with a two-yard scoring run with seven minutes left in the first quarter, then added TD bursts of 25 and 17 yards to leave MCC with a 21-0 lead at the end of the first.

The second quarter was more of the same. Waller added a 70-yard scoring scamper that made the score 27-0, then another touchdown run from 32 yards out with just under two minutes left.

The Crusaders led 34-0 at halftime.

Nick Powell added an 18-yard touchdown in the third quarter to push MCC to the 40-point mark for the second week in a row.

The Crusaders recorded 389 yards rushing on the night, with Waller piling up 231. Tommy Kartes added 78 yards rushing for MCC.

Defensively, both Tommy Kartes and Sam Kartes had five tackles to lead the way for MCC.

The victory puts Muskegon Catholic at 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Lakes 8 Conference.
