Fremont captured the CSAA conference tournament championship with a close win over Big Rapids Saturday. The Packers fell behind early, but but rallied for a 3-2 win.

Big Rapids struck first on a penalty kick from Aden Herron three minutes into the game. Fremont knotted the game at 1-1 on a goal from Lane Converse, assisted by Conner Roesler.

Converse scored later in the first half, this time assisted by Waden Woods. Minutes later, Herron tied the game for the Cardinals with his second goal. 

The game was tied 2-2 at halftime. 

Fremont took the lead in the second half when Grant Vissia was taken down in the box and finished the ensuing penalty kick. The goal held and Fremont took home a 3-2 win.

Joe Kortge made five saves for Fremont. The Packers are now 13-1-2 overall and 10-0 in conference play. 

FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 3, ORCHARD VIEW 1 — The Eagles topped the Cardinals in a non-conference match Friday. Orchard View got on the board first just minutes into the game, but FCC responded with three straight goals to get the win.

Jacob Schuitema, Tylor Brown and Ethan Pollock each scored for the Eagle, with Luke Assaad and Pollack tallying assists. Braden Cohea made four saves in the net.

Calvary is now 7-5-2 on the season. 

LELAND 2, NORTH MUSKEGON 1 — The Norse lost a tight battle Saturday with Leland. Dylan Schultz had North Muskegon’s lone goal, off an assist from Brandon Winter. Leighton Hunt made six saves for the Norse.

North Muskegon fell to 6-7 on the season after the loss.
