The Grand Haven volleyball team jumped one step closer to another district title, defeating Reeths-Puffer in three straight sets on Tuesday.

The Buccaneers won by service scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-9 to improve to 23-16 on the season.

Grand Haven will look to win 14th straight district title on Thursday against Holland West Ottawa. The match is slated to start at 7 p.m.

Ashlyn Pahl led the Bucs with 10 kills while Mackenzie Gross added nine. Samantha Boeve chipped in with 32 assists.

Grand Haven was paced defensively by Mia Swierbut with 13 digs while Hallie Rittel had nine. Gross and Pahl contributed with two blocks apiece.

Leah Ellis led the Rockets with eight kills while Beth Jordan added three aces and 18 assists.

Reeths-Puffer was led defensively by Allie Moore with six digs and Brianna Stawski with six blocks.

The Rockets finished their season with an 11-18 overall record.
