Mona Shores hockey is off to a hot 5-0 start after beating Grand Haven 7-1 on Friday night.

Trent Benedict and Ty Langlois lead the Sailors with two goals apiece.

The Sailors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period off goals from Benedict and Langlois. Andrew Taylor assisted on both plays while Isaac Habetler helped on the opening goal.

Mona Shores built a 4-0 lead after the second period and led 6-0 late in the contest before Grand Haven found the net.

Taylor finished with three assists for Mona Shores while Jake Nanna posted a goal and two assists. Brayden More and Landon Taylor each scored goals while Dylan Dieselberg had two assists.

Grand Haven’s Braden Nielsen scored the Bucs lone goal off an assist from Nicklas Braidwood.
