The Spring Lake boys basketball team earned a well need win and got it against rival Fruitport on Saturday night with a 67-27 win at home.
The Lakers used a well balanced attack as 12 of 13 players scored in the victory.
Kaden George led Spring Lake with 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists while Jaron Little added 10 points and eight reobunds. Evan McDermott added seven points while Callum Saxe, Reid Colquitt and Hunter Throop each added six points.
Spring Lake jumped out to a 17-4 lead after the first quarter and led 39-7 by halftime.
Fruitport was led by Carter Golden with seven points while Bode Anspach and Collin Jolman each added five points.
REETHS-PUFFER 73, GR UNION 42 – The Reeths-Puffer boys basketball team improved to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in conference play with a 73-42 victory over Grand Rapids Union on Saturday.
Kendall Smith led the Rockets with 22 points and nine rebounds while teammate Kaleb Mitchelson added 14 ponits and six assists.
Freshman Travis Ambrose had his second straight double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
GRAND HAVEN 54, EAST KENTWOOD 39 – Grand Haven overcame a 19-11 deficit after the first quarter on Saturday.
Nicolas Stump paced the Buccaneers with 16 points while Bashir Neely added 13 points.
Grand Haven is now 6-1 on the season.
ZEELAND EAST 58, MUSKEGON 52 – Muskegon was unable to overcome a 16-9 first quarter deficit on Saturday afternoon.
Jordan Briggs and Ethan Hill each led the Big Reds with 12 points on the day while Maurice Sain Jr hauled in seven rebounds.
Muskegon is now 6-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play.
