The Mona Shores girls basketball team used a strong second quarter effort to propel themselves to a 49-44 victory over Wyoming on Saturday.

After trailing 14-11 after one quarter, the Sailors outscored Wyoming 19-12 in the second quarter to to take a 30-26 lead into halftime.

After being outscored 12-9 I the third quarter, Mona Shores responded with a 10-6 advantage in the fourth quarter to hold on for victory.

Riley Rosenthal led the Sailors who are now 3-0 with 16 points while Olivia Sobczak added 13 and Jenna Tierman finished with 10.

KENT CITY 50, HART 27 – The Eagles jumped out to a 31-14 halftime lead before coasting to victory on Saturday.

Kenzie Bowers led Kent City (3-0, 2-0) with 17 points while Maddie Geers finished with 13 points.

Hart was led by Jayd Hovey with 18 points and seven rebounds.

FRUITPORT 53, ORCHARD VIEW 24 – Fruitport had three different players finish with double figure scoring totals in a non-conference victory.

Sabi Meil led the Trojans with 15 points and seven rebounds while Willo Staal added 11 points and seven rebounds of her own. Kylie Rudolph finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and five steals.
