Saturday wrestling roundup: Montague takes home Tier 2 title while Hart goes undefeated at Belding

The Montague wrestling team took home the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association Tier 2 title on Saturday, going 3-0.

Montague defeated Fruitport 41-39, Muskegon 54-30 and Muskegon Catholic Central 42-39 on Saturday.

Undefeated wrestlers for the Wildcats were Jimmy Thommen, Kevin Roll, Aiden Perrault, Chris Aebig, ale Coppess and Owen Fairchild.

The Wildcats are now 8-1 overall on the season.

HART GOES 3-0 – The Hart wrestling team went undefeated at the Belding Duals on Saturday.

Hart defeated Hesperia 54-15, Forest Hills Northern 48-21 and Belding 61-6.

Undefeated wrestlers for the Pirates were Trayce Tate, Spencer Vanderzwaag, Chance Alvesteffer, Mason Cantu, Thomas Tanner, Leo Guadarrama and Angel Garza.

SHELBY GOES 1-2 – The Shelby wrestling team defeated Mason County Central 45-28 but fell 45-30 to Big Rapids and 45-21 to Kent City.

Cade Clement and Marco Garcia each won three matches on the day while Nick Cantu, Lorenzo Rodriquez and Maricio Catillo all won twice.
