The Fremont boys basketball team lost a 15-point halftime lead but managed to hang on for an exciting 58-55 victory over Grant on Monday in a CSAA Gold Division matchup.

Grant took a one-point lead with 25 seconds to go, but Fremont got one free throw down the stretch from Lane Converse and two from Braiden McDonald to escape with the win.

McDonald paced the Packers with 23 points and eight rebounds. Joshua Zerfas added 17 points, six steals and five assists. 

Fremont, which won its seventh game in a row, is now 8-2 overall and 7-1 in conference play.
