Kendall Zoulek led the Shelby girls basketball team to a 44-41 win over Whitehall on Friday in a West Michigan Conference game.

Zoulek scored 13 points and pulled down five rebounds for the Tigers.

Lexi Schultz also added nine points, eight rebounds, and eight assists on the night for Shelby.

Shelby trailed the first quarter 13-7, 30-18 going into halftime and 35-33 in the third quarter. The Tigers closed out the game strong to complete the comeback win.

Greta Hosticka led Whitehall with 13 points and five steals while teammate Karleigh Jeffries added 10 points and six rebounds.

Shelby is now 5-5 overall and 4-4 in the conference, while the Vikings are 6-5 on the season and 5-4 in league play.

O-K BLUE CONFERENCE

SPRING LAKE 49, COOPERSVILLE 17- The Laker defense was able to keep Coopersville’s offense to single digits in every quarter of the game on their way to a big league victory on Friday night.

Jennifer Judge had a double-double on the night, finishing with 20 points and 10 rebounds while Meah Bajt had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Lakers.

Spring Lake led at the end of first quarter 16-2, 32-8 entering halftime and 46-9 at the end of third quarter.

Spring Lake is now 4-4 overall and 4-4 in the O-K Blue, while the Broncos are 1-9 on the season and 1-8 in league action.

CSAA

TRI COUNTY 49, FREMONT 34 – The Packers fell behind 16-3 in the first quarter, and trialed 31-9 at halftime. The Vikings extended the lead to 42-18 at the end of the third quarter.

Calla Miller paced the Packers with 11 points. Haley Zerlaut finished with nine points while Kaitlynn Bennet grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Packers fell to 3-8 overall and 3-7 in conference play.

MANISTEE 46, HOLTON 31-The Red Devils lost a non-conference contest on Friday night.

The Chippewas outscored Holton 11-5 during the first quarter.

The Red Devils cut into the lead during the second period and trailed 20-18 at halftime. Holton tied the game 28-28 heading into the fourth quarter.

Manistee closed out the game with a strong 18-3 fourth quarter run.

Ryann Robins paced the Red Devils with 15 points, while Madi Bosset chipped in with seven. 

The Red Devils are now 4-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play. 

NON-CONFERENCE 

MONTAGUE 49, LUDINGTON 45 (OT)– Ally Hall had a double-double to lead the Wildcats to a non-league win on Friday night.

Hall had 18 points and 12 rebounds while teammate Claire Meacham had 11 points and seven rebounds on the night.

The Wildcats are now 9-0 overall and 8-0 in conference play. Their next game is Tuesday at Oakridge.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 71, TRI UNITY CHRISTIAN 20 – The Warriors have scored 70 points in three straight games.

Taylor Folkema paced WMC with 28 points, six rebounds, four steals and four blocks, while Kyla Wiersema added 18 points and eight rebounds.

Maddie Wiersema chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds.
