McKena Wilson poured in 21 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Fruitport Calvary Christian to a 53-29 victory over Orchard View on Monday in a non-league girls basketball game.

Cate Anhalt added 11 points and four rebounds for the Eagles, Avneet Cheema had eight points and 10 rebounds and Kyra Hamilton grabbed 17 boards.

Mackenzie Filipiak led the Cardinals with 11 points

Fruitport Calvary improved to 4-3 while OV is 0-10 on the season.

WEST MICHIGAN CONFERENCE

WHITEHALL 54, MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 17 – Whitehall grabbed an early 12-0 lead and cruised to the conference win.

Karleigh Jeffries led the way for the Vikings with 16 points and seven rebounds. Charley Klint had a big all-around game with eight points, six steals and nine rebounds.

Nyah Tyron paced the Spartants with five points, three assists and two steals.

Whitehall is now 5-4 overall and 4-3 in conference play. MCC fell to 3-7 and 2-6.

SHELBY 38, NORTH MUSKEGON 22 – Kendall Zoulek scored 13 points for Shelby, which gained its advantage by outscoring the Norse 27-8 in the first half.

Zoulek also had 10 rebounds, Lauren Brown had nine points and 11 rebounds and Lexi Schultz dished out five assists for Shelby.

Jena Francis led North Muskegon with nine points.

Shelby improved to 3-4 in the conference while North Muskegon fell to 1-5.

CSAA

FREMONT 48, GRANT 35 – The Packers avenged an earlier eight-point loss to Grant with a 13-point victory. 

Fremont was led by Calla Miller’s 22 points, six rebounds, five steals and five assists.

The win was the third in a row for Fremont, which is now 3-6 overall and 3-5 in the conference. 

KENT CITY 68, HESPERIA 30 – Kent City outscored Hesperia 22-4 in the first quarter and never looked back.

Kenzie Bowers led the undefeated Eagles with 23 points while Maddie Geers added 16.

Emily Bayle paced Hesperia with 18 points while Emmi Tinkham grabbed eight boards.

Kent City is now 10-0 overall and 5-0 in the CSAA Silver Division.

NON-CONFERENCE

HOLTON 47, PENTWATER 30 – Madie Bosset pumped in 18 points to lead the Red Devils to the non-conference victory.

Holton led 11-5 after one quarter, 20-12 at halftime and 32-21 after three.

Ryann Robins added nine points for the Red Devils while Abbie Fowler and Jasmine Vriesman scored eight points apiece.

Pentwater’s Mikaylyn Kenney totaled nine points, 12 rebounds and five steals.
