The West Michigan Christian boys basketball team knocked off Holton 44-31 on Wednesday night in a non-conference clash.

In the second half, the Warriors’ defense held the Holton offense to just eight total points.

Owen Varnado and Brekken Fairfield both had 11 points to lead Muskegon Catholic on the night.

Holton was paced by Brodrick Fialek with 10 points while Aidan Poling added nine points, four rebounds and three assists.

The Warriors are now 7-3 overall and remain 5-1 in conference play while Holton falls to 9-2 overall and remain 6-0 in conference play.

FREMONT 65, NEWAYGO 48 – Payton Mansfield finished with a career high 17 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double to help push Fremont to their eighth straight victory.

Braiden McDonald had a double-double as well and led the Packers with 21 points while also coming down with 11 rebounds. Joey DeLong also added nine points for the Packers while Joshua Zerfas had an all-around good game with five points, five rebounds, and eight assists in the win.

The Packers are now 9-2 overall and 8-1 in conference play. They will be hosting Tri-County for their Mid-Winter game on Friday.
