Ludington pitcher Lilli Goodrich threw a no-hitter, striking out 13 and walking four in six innings, propelling her team to an exciting 2-1 victory over Onekema on Saturday in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader.

Offensively, Goodrich was 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI and scored a run. Brynn Fortner was 1-for-3 with a double and scored a run, while Jody Meisenheimer was 1-for-2 with an RBI.

The Orioles lost the nightcap 14-4, but several players had good games at the plate, including Fortner, who had three hits with a double.

Ludington is now 3-10 on the season.

REETHS-PUFFER 6, FRUITPORT 4 – Reeths-Puffer posted a 2-1 record while playing three games on Saturday.

The Rockets lost their first game to Fremont 6-4 before winning their next two games 6-0 against Whitehall and 6-4 against Fruitport.

R-P pitcher Caitlynn Duffey had 30 strikeouts on 13.5 innings on the day.

Kaylee Jones had a triple and a home run in the loss to Fremont, while Natalie Kunnen had two singles against Whitehall and a double and a home run against Fruitport.

Against Fruitport, Alyssa Sahlhoff had a single and a double. Emerson Bruzzell had a single and two RBIs.

WHITEHALL 12, FREMONT 5 – The Vikings played two games on Friday and three on Saturday, and came away with a 4-1 record.

The last of the four games was the victory over Fremont. Pitcher Makenna Russell picked up her fourth win of the year while Alyssa Taylor, Kyleigh Martin and Onnyka Dempsey combined for six hits and seven RBIs.

In the other Saturday games, the Vikings beat Fruitport 12-10 and lost to Reeths-Puffer 6-0.

EAST KENTWOOD 10-12, MONA SHORES 6-0 – Mona Shores tallied 10 hits, but it was not enough and the Sailors went on to lose 10-6 in the first game of the Saturday doubleheader.

Maggie McCarthy had three hits for Mona Shores. Elizabeth Savacool added two hits, including a home run, and had two RBIs.  Hannah Geoghan finished with three hits and three RBIs while Brooklyn Graham added two hits and an RBI.

Mona Shores struggled to get production from their bats in the second game. McCarthy and Alexis Brayton had the only hits as the Sailors fell 12-0.
