Mona Shores’ Aaron Piasecki came through in the clutch to push the Sailors to a win Thursday. With the Sailors trailing 4-2 in the seventh inning, Piasecki connected on a walk-off three-run homer to give the Sailors the win.

The game was a completion of one started Tuesday and suspended due to darkness. 

Mona Shores led 2-1 after the first inning, but the Chix rallied with two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to take the lead. 

Mason Brunworth walked and Reid McAvoy was hit by a pitch to set up Piasecki’s winning blast. 

Brady Whalen pitched the final five and two thirds innings to earn the win in relief.

Zeeland East dominated the second game of the day 9-0 to close the week’s three-game series. 

Jason Anderson had two hits while McAvoy added a double for the Sailors in the loss. 

Mona Shores is now 2-2 on the season. 

ZEELAND WEST 5, REETHS-PUFFER 0 — The Rockets fell behind early and couldn’t get the bats rolling in a conference loss Thursday.

Jeremy Ardshahi had Reeths-Puffer’s only hit and pitched two strong innings of relief. Kendall Smith started for R-P and struck out three in five innings. Kaden Edwards drew two walks. 

The Rockets fall to 1-2 on the season. 

GRAND RAPIDS WEST CATHOLIC 6-10, FRUITPORT 2-1 — The Trojans dropped a pair of games to West Catholic Thursday.
The teams resumed a suspended game in the third inning to start Thursday’s action. Brady Weck pitched four and one-third innings in relief, allowing two runs and striking out three. Mayson Whitlow had two hits and Aiden Vela drove in two runs.

In the second game, the Falcons broke open a close game late to win big. Austin Wilson allowed three earned runs in four and two-thirds innings. Vela and Cody Nash each had two hits. 

FROM WEDNESDAY

RAVENNA 10-3, MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 4-0 — The Bulldogs started off their season with a sweep over conference foe MCC. 

Tristan Witt tossed six innings with five strikeouts to earn the win in Game 1. Brandon McFarren and Kurtis Spruit had three hits each. 

Spruit starred on the mound in the nightcap, tossing a one-hit shutout. Kyler Nichols and Travis May each had two hits in the second game. 

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 10, GRAND RAPIDS COVENANT CHRISTIAN 9 — Max Price chipped in at the dish, on the basepaths and on the mound to lead MCC. Price had two hits, three RBI, three stolen bases and notched a save by striking out the final two batters of the game.

Navarre Klint had two doubles, two RBI and got the win. Tom Kartes and Sam Kartes each had two hits as well. MCC is now 2-0 on the season.
