The Mona Shores baseball team picked up a doubleheader sweep in O-K Green Conference play on Tuesday, defeating Reeths-Puffer 5-0 in the opening game, then edging out a 8-7 win in the nightcap.  

In Game 1, Brady Rose threw 6 ⅓ shutout innings for the Sailors, striking out nine batters while only allowing three hits.  

Mark Konecny, Kaleb Wilburn, Landen Thalman and Mason Brunworth recorded two hits and an RBI apiece for Mona Shores. 

Kendall Smith took the hill in Game 1 for the Rockets, throwing 7 innings, allowing five runs, while striking out seven hitters.

Kaden Edwards, Connor Paugh and Kaleb Mitchelson ended the game with a hit each for Reeths-Puffer. 

In Game 2, Brady Whalen pitched up the win for the Sailors. He threw five innings allowing two runs, while striking out three batters.

Brunworth picked up the save, working  1 ⅓ innings in relief, while also going 4-for-4 for the Sailors offensively with  two RBI’s, while stealing two bases.

Rose collected a pair of hits and a pair stolen bases for Mona Shores. 

Jaxon Whitiker took the bump for the Rockets in Game 2. He threw 4 ⅔ innings allowing seven runs.

Kaden Edwards picked up a pair of hits and drove in four runs for Reeths-Puffer. 

The Sailors improved to 6-2 on the season and 3-2 in league action.

LAKES 8 CONFERENCE

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 13-15, ORCHARD VIEW 8-3 – The Warriors cruised to a doubleheader sweep in Lakes 8 action on Tuesday.

Cole Crabtree earned the Game 1 victory for WMC, allowing five hits, five runs, while striking out two batters in 3 2/3 innings.

Crabtree, TerHaar, Samuel VanOrman and Sam Sipe each recorded two hits for the Warriors.

In Game 2, Mason Goorman notched his first win of the season, allowing five hits while striking out four in five innings.

TerHaar and Sam Liggett each had two hits during the nightcap for WMC.

The Warriors are now 3-4 on the season and 2-0 in league play.
