Seven different players scored a goal for the Orchard View girls soccer team, who blanked Fremont 7-0 in their season debut on Tuesday.

Kyah McGruther, Cassidy Noordhoek, Kylee Carmean, Aleya Jones, Madysen Pastor, Tania Furlough and Damaya Harrison all scored a goal on Tuesday night. 

Makenzie Moore recorded a clean sheet, stopping two shots for the win in net for OV, while Saga Peres made 17 saves in a losing effort for the Packers.

The Cardinals outshot the Packers 24-2. The Cardinals start the season 1-0, while the Packers fall  to 0-3 overall.


MONA SHORES 3, ZEELAND EAST 2-The Sailors rallied back from a two-goal deficit to win an O-K Green Conference contest on Tuesday. 

Mona Shores trailed 2-0 early in the contest.

Bri Wade opened the scoring for the Sailors, then set up Lydia Sowles to tie the game 2-2 at halftime.

Ali Trautner scored the eventual game-winning goal in the second half to give the Sailors the lead. 

Ella Buikema picked up the win in goal for Mona Shores, stopping eight shots on the evening. 

Both teams recorded 10 shot apiece.


SHELBY 8, HART 0 – The Tigers kicked off their season with a huge West Michigan Conference play.

Shelby led 2-0 at halftime, then scored six goals during the second half while holding off the Pirates.

Morgan Frees had a hat trick with three goals, while Aubrey Klotz, Lauren Deal, Nadia Millan, Lindsey Harvell and Ashley Miller each scored one goal apiece.

Haydee Pedroza notched three assists, while Isabell Omness added two and both Lindsey Tranthum and Claire Peterson each added one.

NORTH MUSKEGON 8, RAVENNA 0 – The Norse cruised to a West Michigan Conference win on Tuesday night.

Hope Johnson recorded a hat trick for North Muskegon, while Audrey Wilson and Emily Olsen each had two goals apiece.

Emily Judd chipped in with a single goal.

Olsen chipped in with three assists, while Natalie Pannucci, Spencer Zizak and Grace VanderWoude all had one assist each.

Freshman Goaltender Emma Lamiman earned her second shutout of the season as North Muskegon improved to 2-0 on the season.
