Weekend girls soccer roundup: Mona Shores and North Muskegon each shut out opponents

The Mona Shores girls soccer team defeated Fruitport 3-0 on Saturday in a non-conference clash.

Bri Wade, Riley Rosenthal and Mia Brown all scored goals for the Sailors while Lauren Hylland and Wade each had an assist.

Goalkeeper Ella Buikema picked up the shutout in net to help Mona Shores improve to 4-1 on the season.

NORTH MUSKEGON 4, LELAND 0 – Emily Olsen led the Norse with two goals in the victory whiel Emily Judd and Hope Johnson each scored one goal.

Syann Fairfield picked up the win in net.

North Muskegon is now 4-0 on the season.

LUDINGTON GOES 1-1 – The Ludington girls soccer team defeated Chippewa Hills 6-1 before falling 1-0 in a shootout to Coopersville.

In the first game, Sophia Cooney led the Orioles with three goals while Marta Rossebo had two goals.

Leonie Dahm had one goal while Anna Wietrzykowski, Kendall Biggs, Hailey Stowe, Abi Bandstra and Maddi Martin all had assists.

Kendall Biggs and Annie Kline each scored in the shootout against Coopersville.

Ludington is now 2-2 overall on the season.
