Freshman pitcher Ryann Robins struck out 21 batters to lead the Holton softball team to a 10-2 victory over White Cloud on Friday in the first game of a CSAA Silver Division doubleheader.

Robins and Gianna Reed each had three hits in the game while Abbie Fowler and Kendall Greene each had two.

Holton complete the sweep with a 17-0 victory in Game 2. Fowler gave up one hit in four innings of pitching while striking out eight hitters. Reed led the Red Devils at the plate with two home runs and five RBI’s. Kendall Greene and Courtney Boes picked up three hits apiece, while Fowler, Maddie Bosset, Kennedy Greene, Alana Cregg and Emma Monnette all recorded two hits.

The Red Devils improved to 16-3 overall this season.

OAKRIDGE 12-17 FRUITPORT 1-2 – The Eagles remained undefeated with a sweep of the Trojans in non-conference action. 

In Game 1, Brooklyn Galdeen picked up the win on the mound, pitching six innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out five batters. Andrea Romero led the offense with three hits, including a home run and six RBIs. Delaney Ruel recorded three hits and three RBIs, while Madison Clark picked up three hits, including a home run. 

In Game 2, Kaelinn Jozsa earned the win, pitching four innings while allowing two runs on six hits and striking out four. Galdeen paced the offense with a pair of home runs and five RBI’s. Ahria Doornbos hit a grand slam, while Jasmine Pastor had three hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs. 

Oakridge is now 19-0 overall and 4-0 in West Michigan Conference play.
