Monday soccer roundup: North Muskegon comes back to tie in dramatic fashion

The North Muskegon girls soccer team used a dramatic comeback on Monday night to tie Lansing Christian 2-2.

With just two seconds remaining and the Norse trailing 2-1, freshman Kennedi Koekkoek found the back of the net to tie the game up at 2-2.

At halftime, North Muskegon trailed 2-0 before a second half goal on a penalty shot by Hope Johnson made the score 2-1.

LUDINGTON 3, OAKRIDGE 2 – The Ludington girls soccer team defeated Oakridge 3-2 on Monday night in a non-conference clash.

Kendall Biggs, Abi Bandstra and Sophia Cooney all scored a goal for the Orioles while Cooney also added an assist.

Anyssa Castaneda picked up the win in net, stopping six shots for Ludington who is now 13-4 overall on the season.

SPRING LAKE 6, WEST CATHOLIC 0 – Meah Bajt netted four goals in a dominant performance for Spring Lake.

Also finding the back of the net for the Lakers was Eryn Bouwhuis who scored two goals of her own.

Clara Saunders had three assists on the night while Clara Saunders, Ella Andree and Taylor Yanke each had one assist.

Goalkeeper Jessica Stewart recorded the shutout victory in net.

Spring Lake is now 9-2-2 overall on the season.

REED CITY 7, FREMONT 1 – The Fremont girls soccer team fell in the opening round of the CSSA conference tournament on Monday.

Ashley Timmer was assisted by Bethany Geeting on the lone goal for the Packers who are now 6-4-2 overall and 4-3-1 in conference play.
