Sophia Cooney nets two goals as Ludington defeats Allendale in Division 2 district opener

The Ludington girls soccer team defeated Allendale 4-2 on Wednesday night in the first round of Division 2 district play.

Sophia Cooney had two goals to lead the Orioles while Marte Rossebo and Anna Wietrzykowski each had one goal.

Picking up assists for Ludington were Abi Bandstra, Hailey Stowe, Cooney and Wietrzykowski.

Goalkeeper Anyssa Castaneda made 13 saves for Ludington while picking up the win.

Ludington is now 15-5 overall on the season and will next play either Fruitport or Coopersville on June 3 at Reeths-Puffer.
