The Reeths-Puffer baseball team continued its winning ways with a walk-off win over Wyoming Thursday night. The Rockets rallied from a 3-2 deficit in the seventh inning to pick up a 4-3 win.

Jaxson Whitaker led off the bottom of the seventh with a double before being replaced with pinch-runner Jett Boersma. Alex Orchard reached on a bunt single that advanced Boersma to third, setting up a game-tying sacrifice fly by Connor Paugh.

Ayden Willacker came up with the biggest hit of the night, slapping a two-out RBI single to right field, scoring pinch-runner Kaleb Mitchelson. 

Ryan Barmes threw a complete game for R-P, allowing three runs and striking out six. Kaden Edwards had two hits for the Rockets.

Reeths-Puffer has won 18 of its last 20 games and is now 19-6 on the season and 13-4 in conference play. 

O-K GREEN

MONA SHORES 14, GRAND RAPIDS UNION 0 — The Sailors picked up a shutout win over Union behind a strong performance from Brady Whalen. Whalen allowed just one hit, an infield single, in five innings and struck out four.

Nine Sailors had at least one hit on the day, led by Diego Pena’s three hits and an RBI. Mason Brunworth, Brady Rose, Jason Anderson, and Mark Konecny each had two hits a piece. Reid McAvoy had a double and three runs scored.

The win puts Shores at 21-7 overall and 13-4 in the O-K Green.

WEST MICHIGAN CONFERENCE

MONTAGUE 16, 10, HART 0, 0 — The Wildcats dominated the Pirates in a West Michigan Conference doubleheader on Thursday, outscoring Hart 26-0 on the day. 

In Game 1, Kade Johnson pitched a no-hitter through four innings to go along with six strikeouts. Tugg Nichols had three hits and three RBI, Colton Blankstrom had a three RBI game and Aidan Buchberger scored four runs. Every player on the roster recorded a hit in the opener. 

In the nightcap, Blankstrom got the win on the mound, striking out six and allowing three hits. He also drove in three runs on offense. Buchberger and Nick Moss each had two hits.

The sweep puts Montague at 20-10 overall, and a perfect 10-0 in the WMC.

NON-CONFERENCE

FREMONT 18, OAKRIDGE 8 — The Packers scored 10 runs in the fifth inning to pick up a non-conference win over the Eagles.

Logan Nelson smacked four hits, including a double, with three RBI to lead Fremont, while Payton Mansfield went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and four runs scored.

Jaxon Deur got the win on the mound, collecting five strikeouts in six innings. Garrett Wever took the loss for Oakridge.

Corey Vanderputte, Ty Coletta and Ty Asmus each had two hits. Asmus also drove in a pair of runs. 

LAKES 8

LUDINGTON 6, MANISTEE 1 — The Orioles picked up a Lakes 8 win against Manistee Thursday night.

Jacob Irelan starred on the mound, pitching a complete game with 11 strikeouts. Stephen Weinert led the offense with two hits, an RBI and two stolen bases. Ty Wincheski added two hits and two runs, while Evan McCarthy drove in two.

 The win puts Ludington at 17-7 overall and 9-2 in the Lakes 8.
