The Fruitport baseball team won a pair of O-K Blue Conference games against Allendale on Tuesday.

The Trojans won Game 1 6-4, them completed the twin bill sweep with a slim 7-6 victory in the second contest.

Cody Matuz got the win from the mound, striking out four batters in four innings. Cody Nash had three hits and three RBIs, as well as a triple. Gavin Remes and Matuz each added two hits.

In Game 2, Austin Wilson went 4.1 innings, recording two strikeouts in the win. Matuz and Nash each had two hits in the victory.

LAKES 8 CONFERENCE

LUDINGTON 13-10, ORCHARD VIEW 9-0 – The Orioles earned a doubleheader sweep in Lakes 8 action on Tuesday.

In Game 1 Jacob Irelan went the entire game for Ludington, striking out seven batters while also going 3-for-5 from the plate with two RBIs as well as a run scored.

Johnny Weinert and Brad Mesyar were each 3-for-4 from the plate. Weinert had two RBIs and two runs scored while Mesyar knocked in three runs and scored a run.

In Game 2, Hayden Madl tossed a five-inning shutout with four strikeouts and two hits allowed.

Mesyar again went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Kian Gurizzian went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

The Orioles are now 12-6 on the season and 6-2 in Lakes 8 play.

O-K GREEN CONFERENCE 

MONA SHORES 10-7, HOLLAND 0-2 – The Sailors swept a doubleheader in O-K Green Conference action on Tuesday.

In Game 1, Brady Whalen was dominant on the mound, only allowing an infield single during a five-inning shutout.

Mark Konecny had a two-run home run as part of his four RBI game for the Sailors while Jason Anderson had a three-hit game to go along with an RBI and a run scored.

In Game 2, Jason Anderson went the full seven innings, recording five strikeouts and allowing two runs.

Brady Rose had two RBIs and two runs scored, while Aaron Piasecki had a two-run home run to help propel Mona Shores to a sweep.

The sweep puts the Sailors at 12-5 overall and 7-3 in the O-K Green conference play.

KENT CITY 23-7, LAKEVIEW 2-6 – The Eagles swept a CSAA Silver doubleheader on Tuesday.

In Game 1, Lakeview jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first before the Eagles hammered home 12 runs in the first inning and 11 in the second.

Troy Atwood went 3-for-3 with two RBIs, Kyler Larson was 2-for-2 with a triple and double, as well as 3 RBIs.

Webb Longcore added a double and four RBIs. The Eagles had 10 total hits to pair with their 23 runs. Larson got the win on the mound.

In Game 2, Atwood got the win on the mound, striking out three batters in five innings before Larson got five strikeouts in a two-inning save.

The Eagles once again had 10 total hits, with Larson going 3-for-4 and knocking in a run, Ryan Darling went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Atwood went 2-for-4 and scored two runs.

The sweep improves Kent City’s record to 6-6 overall and 4-4 in the CSAA Silver play.

NON-LEAGUE

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 9, HOLTON 4 – The Crusaders won a non-conference contest on Tuesday night.

Sam Convertini pitched the win for MCC, allowing two hits in four scoreless innings while striking out five batters.

The Crusaders were led offensively by Navarre Klint, Convertini and Nick Powell with two hits apiece. Gabe Johnson chipped in with a double and two RBI’s.

Holton was led by Aiden Poling and Cody Moreen with a hit and run scored each. Poling suffered the loss on the mound.

The Crusaders are now 9-4 on the season, while Holton falls to 9-7 overall.
