The Reeths-Puffer baseball team continued its recent hot streak by sweeping a doubleheader from Wyoming in O-K Green conference play on Tuesday. 4-2 and 8-0.

Kaleb Mitchelson pitched a great game in the opener, allowing one run on four hits while striking out six in six innings. 

The Rockets scratched across a run in both the second and third innings. In the fourth Jeremy Ardshahi doubled and scored on Alex Johnson’s single, then Johnson scored on Kaden Edwards’ double. Johnson, Edwards, Trent Reichert and Connor Paugh all had multiple hits in the first game.

Ardshahi took the mound in Game 2 and struck out nine in the shutout, allowing only one hit in five innings. Reichert and Alex Orchard each had multiple hits and one RBI for the Rockets while Brody Panozzo and Ayden Willacker each recorded RBIs.

Reeths-Puffer is now 17-6 overall and 10-4 in O-K Green play.

MONA SHORES 10-10, GR UNION 0-0 – The Sailors swept O-K Green rival Grand Rapids Union in a big way, winning both games by scores of 10-0.

Brady Rose tossed a one-hit shutout on the mound in Game 1. Mark Konecny had three hits, three RBIs and scored twice. Jaxon Huffman had a two-run homer as part of a two- hit game, while Aaron Piasecki and Brady Whalen also had two hits.

In Game 2, Huffman had a three-hit shutout, striking out 10. Rose was the leader from the batters’ box, collecting a triple and two RBIs while stealing a base and scoring a run. Piasecki also had a triple and two RBIs along with three stolen bases.

The wins put Mona Shores at 20-7 overall and 12-4 in the O-K Green.

WEST MICHIGAN CONFERENCE

MONTAGUE 16-18, SHELBY 1- 0 – The Wildcats had a big day, winning 16-1 in the opener and 18-0 in the second game.

Owen Petersen allowed no hits in four innings on the opener while striking out five. Petersen also had a triple, a double, three RBIs and scored three runs. Tugg Nichols had two doubles and two RBIs. Montague piled up 11 hits.

In Game 2, Aiden Buchberger struck out seven while allowing two hits. Colton Blankstrom had two doubles and an RBI as part of his four-hit game while Kade Johnson had three hits, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Montague had 16 hits, including seven doubles.

The sweep puts Montague at 18-10 overall and a perfect 8-0 in conference play.

LAKES 8

LUDINGTON 13-8, MANISTEE 1- 4 – In game 1, Brad Mesyar got the win, allowing no runs on four hits and striking out seven. Mesyar also went 2-for-3 with three RBIs while Evan McCarthy was also 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

In Game 2, Jacob Irelan got the win, allowing one hit and one earned run with four strikeouts. Jake Lamm went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs and two runs scored, while Johnny Weinert was also 2-for-3 and scored twice.

The sweep puts the Orioles at 16-7 overall and 8-2 in the Lakes 8
