The West Michigan Whitecaps won their third straight game on Thursday with a 4-1 road victory over Wisconsin.

Wisconsin jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom of the first inning.

The Whitecaps didn’t trail for long however as Daniel Cabrera and Bryant Packard hit back-to-back solo home runs in the second inning for a 2-1 lead.

In the third inning, Packard hit a RBI fielders choice groundout to score Dillon Dinger, extending the Whitecap lead to 3-1.

In the ninth inning, Cabrera walked to scored Parker Meadows which made the score 4-1 which was ultimately the final.

Starting pitcher Beau Brieske picked up the win, allowing one unearned run on one hit while striking out nine over six innings.

The Whitecaps bullpen pitched the final three innings, allowing just two walks while striking out three additional hitters.

Parker Meadows had three walks to help the Whitecaps offensive attack while Cabrera and Packard each finished with one hit and two RBIs.

The Whitecaps are now 7-7 overall on the season and will continue their series at Wisconsin on Friday with first pitch scheduled for 7:35 p.m.
