The West Michigan Whitecaps won 1-0 on Wednesday in 10 innings thanks to a walk-off balk call.

In the bottom of the 10th inning, Reynaldo Rivera scored from third base when Lake County pitcher Trevin Esquerra balked.

Rivera and Daniel Cabrera each had one hit which were the only two hits that the Whitecaps totaled on the night.

Whitecaps pitchers combined to allow just five hits and walk one while striking out 12 over 10 innings of work.

The Whitecaps are now 10-9 overall on the season and will continue their home series against Lake County on Thursday with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
