The West Michigan Whitecaps picked up a second straight road victory on Wednesday, defeating Wisconsin 6-4.

Bryant Packard and Reynaldo Rivera each hit solo home runs in the second inning to give the Whitecaps a 2-0 lead.

After Wisconsin scored a run in the home half of the second inning, Andre Lipcius singled home Spencer Torkelson in the third inning to extend the Whitecaps lead to 3-1.

A Daniel Cabrera RBI single that scored Lipcius in the fifth inning extended the lead to 4-1.

With the score 4-2 in the seventh inning, Spencer Torkelson scored Parker Meadows on a sacrifice fly while Cabrera had an RBI single that scored Dillon Dingler, making the score 6-2.

Wisconsin scored one run in the bottom of the seventh and one run in the ninth to make the final score 6-4.

Lipcius led the Whitecaps with three hits and one RBI on the night while Torkelson and Corey Joyce each had two hits.

The Whitecaps are now 6-7 overall and tied for third place in the High A Central Division, three and a half games behind first place Lake County.

On Thursday, the Whitecaps will continue their series at Wisconsin with first pitch scheduled for 7:35 p.m.
