The Muskegon Clippers have struggled at Marsh Field this season, going win one of five games entering tonight’s contest.

That trend unfortunately continued as the Clippers jumped out to a 2-0 lead but gave up three runs in the eighth inning to fall 3-2 against the Jet Box Baseball Club on Saturday night.

The Clippers are now 7-8 on the season and will have two days off before returning to action at Marsh Field on Tuesday against the Galion Graders. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.

Muskegon opened the scoring with two runs in the sixth inning on RBI doubles by Dylan Nevar and Noah Marcoux to give the Clippers a 2-0 lead.

Jet Box responded in the eighth, scoring on a passed ball and a two-run single by Daniel Warkentin to make the score 3-2.

The Clippers failed to complete a comeback, going out in order in both the eighth and ninth frames.

Muskegon’s starting pitcher Gabriel Nutter suffered the loss, but pitched well, going 7 1/3 innings while allowing three runs on two hits while striking out 10 batters.

The Clippers were paced offensively by Nevar and Marcoux with two hits and an RBI each.
