The Hart softball team defeated Hesperia 6-2 on Saturday in the finals of a Division 3 district tournament on its home field.

The victory gave the Pirates the first district title in the history of their program.

Pitcher Finley Kistler got the win for Hart, striking out eight Hesperia batters. Skylar Smith led the Pirate offense with three hits, with Cassidy Copenhaver and Kistler each landing two hits.

Myryssa Hopkins, Kloe Klotz, and Morgan Marvin each had single hits.

The Pirates will face North Muskegon in the first round of regionals on Saturday at Calvin Christian High School.
