The North Muskegon girls soccer team continued its push for state honors with an impressive 8-1 victory over McBain Northern Michigan Christian on Tuesday in the Division 4 regional semifinals at Cadillac High School.
Three different players – Audrey Wilson, Katie Kinahan and Hope Johnson – each scored two goals for the Norse. Sophie Schotts and Emily Olsen both had one goal.
North Muskegon led 6-1 at halftime of the game played in steamy hot conditions, then cruised to the victory in the second half.
North Muskegon, now 17-1-1 on the season and ranked first in the state, will face the winner of the Harbor Springs-Midland Calvary Baptist game on Friday at 6 p.m. in the regional finals in Cadillac. The winner of that game will advance to the June 16 state semifinals.
