The Grand Haven softball team posted an 11-2 victory over Reeths-Puffer on Wednesday in a Division 1 pre-district contest.

 

Veda Vargas went 3-for-4 at the plate for the Buccaneers, who had 12 hits in the game. Hannah Aldred pitched a complete-game while scattering three hits and striking out 11.

 

Grand Haven will now face Mona Shores in the district semifinals on Saturday, with the winner advancing to the finals later in the day.

 

MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 4, PENTWATER 3 – Pentwater’s Mikaylyn Kenney was outstanding in the loss, allowing only three hits and two walks while striking out 17. The Falcons were led offensively by Mandi Sayles, who had two hits.

 

Pentwater, now 14-4, will compete in districts on Saturday at Holton.
