For the second straight game, the West Michigan Whitecaps blew a late lead and fell 4-2 in a road contest at Lake County.

A fielder’s choice RBI by Reynaldo Rivera in the second inning gave the Whitecaps a 1-0 lead.

Eric De La Rosa in the top of the fifth hit a solo home run to center field to extend the Whitecaps lead to 2-0.

In the bottom of the eighth, Lake County scratched across four runs to ultimately hold on for the 4-2 victory.

Eliezer Alfonzo and Wenceel Perez each had two hits to lead the Whitecaps offensive attack on Wednesday night.

The Whitecaps are now 19-18 overall on the season and will continue their road series versus Lake County on Thursday with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m.
