The West Michigan Whitecaps won their second straight game over Lansing, winning 9-4 on Friday night.

After falling behind 3-0, Dillon Dingler hit a RBI groundout in the fourth inning to score Spencer Torkelson and make the score 3-1.

With the score 4-1 in the fifth inning, Bryant Packard hit a RBI groundout scoring Jose King and cutting the Whitecaps deficit to 4-2.

Later in the inning, Torkelson hit a sacrifice fly to score Packard and cut the Whitecaps deficit to 4-3.

In the sixth inning, Jose King scored Eliezer Alfonzo, Eric De La Rosa singled home King, Torkelson hit a three run homer which was followed by a Dingler homer to give the Whitecaps a 9-4 lead.

Torkelson led the Whitecaps with three hits and four RBIs on the night while King and De La Rosa each had two hits.

The Whitecaps are now 18-15 overall on the season and will continue their home series versus Lansing on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
