The Muskegon Clippers allowed four unanswered late runs on Wednesday night, resulting in a 7-5 loss to the Royal Oak Leprechauns at Memorial Park Field.

The Clippers are now 10-10 on the season and are tied for fourth place in the Great Lakes league’s Northern Division.

Muskegon will travel to face the Michigan Monarchs on Thursday night at Siena Heights, before starting a two-game weekend homestand on Friday and Saturday at Marsh Field against Jet Box and the Leprechauns. Both games will start at 7:05 p.m.

The Clippers trailed 2-0 after the first inning and led 3-2 through two innings before Royal Oak tied the game 3-3 after the fourth frame.

Muskegon regained its lead at 5-3 in the fifth before the Leprechauns closed out the scoring with three runs in the seventh and one in the eighth.

Noah Marcoux paced the Clippers offensively with three hits and a run scored, while Tre Jones added two hits, including a home run and three RBIs.

Connor Vallie suffered the loss, going 1 1/3 innings of relief while allowing a run.
