Mona Shores volleyball goes back-to-back at Grand Haven Battle on the Boardwalk

The Mona Shores Sailors volleyball team turned in a stellar performance on Saturday and won the Grand Haven Battle on the Boardwalk tournament for the second straight time.

The Sailors defeated Grand Haven, 25-17, 13-25, 19-17 then defeated Spring Lake 25-15, 25-13.

In the final match of the day, the Sailors went to battle with the Fruitport Trojans and won 19-25, 25-9, 15-9.

Grace Norris had 38 assists, 4 aces, 17 kills and 18 digs. Ava Dunn had 24 kills and 6 blocks. Anabeth Hylland finished with 11 kills, 18 digs, seven blocks and four aces. 

Kyann Hellman had 36 assists, 11 digs and two aces. Holli Brus had a solid day with 19 kills, 24 digs and four aces. Ali Trautner had 25 digs and 14 kills while Chloe Rose had 14 digs and 10 aces.

The Sailors step up play again on Wednesday when they host a quad starting at 5 p.m.
