Hart volleyball fell to Whitehall in three sets in its West Michigan Conference season opener.

The Pirates battled Whitehall tight in the first two sets, but had few answers in the third, falling 25-21, 25-15 and 25-8.

The Pirate’s Kloe Klotz had seven digs and one kill, Mya Chickering finished with two aces and six kills and Finley Kistler netted eight assists, one ace, one kill and four digs.

Mariana VanAgtmael had four digs for Hart, while Addi Hovey ended with two blocks and one dig and Audrey Aerts had two aces, four kills and two digs. Morland Gamble contributed an assist and eight digs.

In the loss, Hart fell to 4-6 on the season and 0-1 in the WMC.

Next, the Hart Pirates will host the Oakridge Eagles on Tuesday, September 7.
