The Hesperia football team had its chances to break into the win column, but late mistakes caused the Panthers to fall 39-18 to St. Louis on Thursday.

The Panthers trailed 20-18 entering the fourth quarter, but miscues and turnovers swung the game away to the hosts.

Brandon Quinn led Hesperia’s offense with 160 yards rushing on 24 carries, including a touchdown run. Amando Escobejo and Hunter Billman both had TD runs for the Panthers.

Sam Koch led the Hesperia defense with eight tackles.
