The Kent City Eagles volleyball team made it to the semifinals of the Montabella Invitational on Saturday.

The Eagles fell to Meridian 2-0 with scores of 14-25 and 22-25.

Kent City opened up pool play by demolishing Carson City Crystal with scores of 25-9 and 25-15. It continued on playing hard and defeated Meridian in two 25-17 and 25-19.

In the final match of pool play, Kent City went even against Nouvel Catholic Central falling 25-23 in the opening game but winning 25-18 in the second.

Leading for the Eagles was Emmalyn Geers with six aces, 21 kills and eight blocks. Kaden Perkins got four aces and 33 digs. Kaila Kreuger scored three aces, made a whopping 67 assists, and had 26 digs. Madelyn Geers made 20 kills. Taryn Preston had 11 kills, three blocks and 42 digs.

Kent City is a perfect 4-0 in the conference and a solid 16-3-1 for the season.

The Eagles will play host to White Cloud in CSAA play on Wednesday.
