The Mason County Central girls volleyball team split its home tri against Reed City and Manistee on Thursday.

Slow to start, the Spartans lost to Reed City in the opening match 25-15 and 25-11.

MCC followed it up with stronger play in its second match, defeating Manistee 25-21 and 25-13.

Despite the one dropped match, Coach Erin O’harra saw good things in her team.

“We played well tonight,” said Coach O’harra in an email to the LSJ. “We played as a team and everyone participated both on and off the court to our success. Multiple girls did outstanding tonight.”

Wren Nelson played tough, getting 20 attacks at the net with nine kills. Adria Quigley had two kills, two aces and 14 digs. Maxie Green had two aces and three digs and Tori Dunblazier had two kills and two digs.
