The Muskegon Heights Tigers met the Manistee Chippewas in a Friday night Lakes 8 Conference matchup and walked away with an exciting 34-28 win.
Quarterback Ja’Kari Edwards was effective in the run for Muskegon Heights, rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown with a minimal four attempts. Edwards also threw eight completions for 182 yards and a touchdown.
Leading the Tigers in receiving was Damond Davis with three catches for 98 yards and a touchdown catch.
Anthony Floyd ran his way to a pair of rushing touchdowns. Ashton Smith also recorded a rushing touchdown of his own for Muskegon Heights.
Three Tigers made big impacts on the defensive end.
Anthony Floyd made 15 tackles with one for a loss while Courtney Johnson had 14 tackles and two were for a loss. Deshawn Warren made 15 tackles with one for a loss.
Muskegon Heights improves to a perfect 4-0 and win their first Lakes 8 game of the season.
The Tigers will continue their Lakes 8 Conference play when they travel to take on the Ludington Orioles.
