The No. 4 ranked Fruitport Trojans boys soccer team held it down at home on Wednesday in a 1-0 shutout of Hudsonville Unity Christian.

Ryan Laus found the back of the net for the Division-2 Trojan after playing through a scoreless first half. Sean Gieske set up Laus’ goal on a great cross pass.

Fruitport pressured for the rest of the game but were unable to get an insurance goal.

Keeper Justin Laus made 11 saves for the shutout in net for the Trojans who continue to tally wins as they move to 9-0-1 this season.

“I am really proud of the way our boys executed tonight,” said Coach Dan Hazekamp. “I could point to so many great performances tonight but this was really a team win.”

Fruitport visits Ludington on Saturday in a battle between two top ranked.

The Trojans are currently ranked No. 4 in Division 2, while Ludington sits in the No. 10 spot.
