The Mona Shores Sailors used an insane third-quarter flurry of scores to put Grand Rapids Union down to rest on Friday night.

The Sailors rallied five times into the end zone, all in the third quarter, earning a 50-26 victory.

In the first half Mona Shores was able to score two touchdowns to Grand Rapids Union’s four.

Mark Konecny ran for a 30 yard rushing touchdown to put the Sailors on the board for a 7-7 tie.

Demetri Robeson returned a kickoff for 80 yards, scoring Mona Shoes’ last touchdown before halftime.

Down 26-14 going into the second half, the Sailors heated up firing off touchdown after touchdown.

Ryan McNitt caught a 15 yard pass from Konecny for a touchdown. Dahmir Farnum rushed for 14 and 31 yard back to back touchdowns.

Continuing with the special teams magic, Robeson took a 60 yard punt return to the house.

Putting the final points on the board for the Sailors, Brandon Bankard rushed for a 55-yard touchdown.

Mona Shores finally hosts its first home game of the season to Zeeland West in an OK Green competition next Friday.

The special Sailor Salute game will host all sorts of activities for the Sailor faithful.
