The Greater Muskegon Co-op girls swim team took a 103-83 loss to Zeeland on Tuesday.

The Turtles swam to 21 personal bests on the day and the meet set the team up for next week’s O-K RAinbow tournament.

“It was a great team effort and a great step in the right direction heading into the O-K Rainbow conference tournament next week,” said Head Coach Mick Homan about his team’s performance on Tuesday. “I was very happy and very proud of each and every one of the Turtles tonight.”

Leading for the Turtles was Caroline Carlson in the 200 Free (2:07.17) and the 100 Back (1:04.59) which were both season best times.

Also taking first for the Turtles was Robyn Hunt in the 500 Free (5:49.36) and Sydney Sytsema in the 50 Free (25.51).

Taking first in the 200 Medley relay was the team of Carlson, Gabby Gaston, Hunt and Sytsema (2:02.51) and the 400 Free Relay team of Sytsema, Gaston, Hunt and Carlson (4:01.19).

The Turtles drop to 6-5 and 3-3 in league action and will again compete against Zeeland on November 5-6 for the O-K Rainbow Tier 1 Conference Meet.
