In a tune-up for this weekend’s Division 4 regional cross country meet, the Hart boys and girls ran to first-place finishes in the Run Around the Cloud event Tuesday afternoon.

The meet was hosted by White Cloud.

Both teams won in convincing fashion, with the Pirate boys cruising to a 29-56 victory over White Cloud, while the girls dominated their three-team race with a 19-57 win over Mason County Central. White Cloud was third.

Grand Rapids Chariots of Fire Homeschool took third in the boys’ competition followed by Mason County Central and North Muskegon.

Hart junior Clayton Ackley

Hart junior Clayton Ackley won the boys race in 18:12.90, while junior Wyatt Dean was fourth in 18:31.73, senior Noah Bosley finished fifth in 18:40.85 and freshman Max Stitt came in seventh with a time of 18:48.42.

North Muskegon junior Jude Meldrum-Roy took third in 18:26.29.

White Cloud had three runners in the top 10 as junior Nathan Clark was sixth in 18:43.33, senior Kobe Canning finished eighth in 18:56.54 and freshman Coleson Cruzan was ninth in 19:00.10.

Mason County Central freshman Hunter Sandford finished 10th in 19:10.73.

Hart senior Audrianna Enns

In the girls race, senior Audrianna Enns led the way for the Pirates with a time of 21:21.77. Teammates freshman Lexie Beth Nienhuis was third in 21:54.92 and junior Abigail Pretty was sixth in 23:57.95.

Also in the top 10 were area runners North Muskegon junior Carolyn Bennet, who was fourth in 22:13.22, Mason County Central senior Jaden Peterson in ninth in 24:07.91 and Holton freshman Aubrey Goyings in 10th in 24:27.72.
